Launching Something New…

Hi there,

Welcome to the very first post on my new site. I’ve been wanting a creative outlet for a while now, and this felt like the right time to finally build a space where I can share my thoughts, stories, and (occasionally spicy) takes on recruiting.

If you’ve been in tech long enough, you’ve probably had at least one memorable experience with a recruiter — good, bad, or… confusing. The industry comes with its own set of myths and assumptions, and my goal here is to give an honest, practical, human perspective on how hiring actually works. No jargon. No fear-mongering. No one-size-fits-all playbook. Just real conversations about what makes recruiting effective, where it breaks, and how founders and candidates can navigate it with more clarity and less chaos.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to work across in-house teams, external agencies, and the VC ecosystem, and one thing has become very clear: hiring looks different inside every company, every market cycle, and every team dynamic. There’s no universal template — and that’s what makes it interesting.

So this blog is my way of sharing what I’ve learned (and what I’m still learning), offering fresh takes on topics founders actually care about, and hopefully making the recruiting world feel a little less mysterious. I’ll be covering everything from interview design to closing strategies to the very human parts of hiring that rarely get talked about.

Thanks for being here! I’m excited to write, reflect, and maybe demyth a few things along the way.

Here’s to hiring without the chaos.

-Michelle
